Brian Green was officially introduced as the 17th head baseball coach at Washington State on Wednesday.

Green led his previous team, New Mexico State, to four straight 34+ win seasons and a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 2018. Washington State has not had a team win 34 or more games in a baseball season since 2010.

At the press conference Green vowed not to let AD Pat Chun down. He added, "To be even remotely considered for an opportunity like this, I won’t take it lightly. I’ll give you my heart. I’ll give you my life. That’s how I’ve gotten here and that’s how I’m looking to moving this program to where it was, where it can be, where it’s going."

Green also discussed his three pillars of success during the press conference which are getting involved in the community, developing, and teaching players on and off the field.

"My goal is very simple," said Green. "To get our kids to understand this: That our guys understand and recognize that it will be a true privileged to be a member of the Washington State baseball program, and university, and athletic department. We will promise to place the needs of that team above our own."
