How to watch Washington State’s home football game against Hawaii

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State Cougars look to become bowl-eligible by winning their sixth game of the season on Saturday afternoon against Hawaii.

The Cougs are 5-1 on the season and through three games against Mountain West opponents, WSU is 2-1. Their only loss of the season was against #25 Boise State.

Saturday’s game is also the Homecoming game for Washington State.

University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors vs. Washington State Cougars

Saturday’s game will be the fifth time these two schools have met head to head in football since 1925. Washington State has dropped the two most recent games in 2008 and 2009. Overall the Cougs are 1-3 against Hawaii with the lone win coming in Hawaii in 1929.

Washington State looks to become bowl eligible since 2022. The team is off to a hot start winning games against Texas Tech, Washington, San Jose State and Fresno State.

WSU goes as quarterback John Mateer goes. The Redshirt Sophomore has completed 56% of his passes for 1,601 yards with 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Mateer also leads the Cougs in rushing with 642 yards on 95 carries.

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors bring a 2-4 record with them to Pullman. Their two wins came against Delaware State and Northern Iowa.

Brayden Shager leads the team in passing, completing 60% of his passes for 1592 yards, 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The Rainbow Warriors don’t have much of a rushing attack as Landon Sims leads the team with 168 yards on 39 carries.

So far in 2024, the teams have played one opponent in common. Hawaii lost to #17 Boise State 28-7 and WSU lost to #25 Boise State 45-24.
