Former WSU safety Jalen Thompson was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the fifth round of the NFL Supplemental Draft Tuesday morning.

Thompson becomes the eighth player selected in the supplemental draft in the last ten years. He had 26 teams watch him work out in Los Angeles on Monday.

Thompson lost his final year of eligibility at Washington State due a violation of NCAA rules. Thompson just found out that he was ineligible about a week ago.

Thompson was one of the best returning players on WSU's defense. He started every game for the Cougars in his three years playing with the team and was an All Pac-12 honorable mention last season. He had 190 tackles and six interceptions over his WSU career.
