COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The final 140.6 mile Ironman started smoothly Sunday morning in Coeur d’Alene.
1,100 athletes registered for the final race. Participants began with the swim portion of the race, with the first swimmers making their way into the water at 6 a.m. The last athlete was in the water around 6:20 a.m..
Out of the athletes registered for the race, 908 entered the water at the start of the race. 837 crossed the finish line. 71 people did not finish.

The final swimmers raced to the finish line of the Ironman swim portion around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
