SPOKANE, Wash. — Standout basketball player and Texas native Drew Timme committed to Gonzaga University on Wednesday.

Timme, a 6’10’’ center, announced the decision on Twitter. He wrote, “So thankful to be in this position. I’m ready for the next chapter in my life.”

ESPN also lists Timme’s decision to commit to Gonzaga on its website and Gonzaga men's basketball tweeted about the decision.

Timme is graduating from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas. He is ranked No. 59 on ESPN.com’s Top 11, No. 29 on rivals.com, and No. 41 on 247sports.com.

Some outlets predicted Timme may choose Texas A&M before his choice to commit to Gonzaga.

Timme joins Gonzaga Preparatory School rising senior and Gonzaga commit Anton Watson.

In June, Watson was among 18 finalists for Team USA’s U-18 National team.

Watson replied to Timme's tweet with, " Congrats bro!! Big things on the way."
