SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back in a 4-1 win over Loyola Marymount on Sunday.

The win clinched the two seed for the Zags in the West Coast Conference Tournament.

Right fielder Troy Johnston hit a single in the top of the first to drive in shortstop Ernie Yake for the first run. Catcher Austin Pinorini hit a sac fly later in the inning for the second run. The Zags added a couple more runs in the seventh inning to keep its distance.

Gonzaga had a great game defensively in both pitching and fielding. The Bulldogs pitched by committee to allow LMU just one run off a Trevin Esquerra solo home run in the sixth inning.

The West Coast Conference Tournament will be played May 23rd to the 25th. The Zags first round opponent will be Saint Mary's.
