SPOKANE, Wash. —Former Gonzaga standout Nigel Williams-Goss announced on Twitter that he will be leaving the NBA to play basketball overseas.

Williams-Goss was scheduled to play for the Utah Jazz and is now signed with a team in Belgrade.

Williams-Goss was the 22nd GU player selected in the NBA Draft all-time. He was the 55th pick overall in the 2017 NBA Draft.

He was scheduled to go to training camp with the Jazz and compete for a roster spot, but was not guaranteed one.

The decision has been in the works since the draft and came down to a few factors, including playing time.

KREM 2's Darnay Tripp reported the Utah Jazz still owns Williams-Goss' rights and can buy him out of his contract with Partizan at any point. Other NBA teams can, if the Jazz releases his rights.

Williams-Goss picked Partizan because of the level of play, exposure, and a favorable buyout cost. He will head there on Wednesday.
