SPOKANE, Wash.—The smoke and haze over the region has Spokane air quality dipping into the unhealthy for some groups category Monday.

The Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency reported the air quality index at 148. When the index reaches 150 it is considered unhealthy for all groups.

Reports said when air quality hits “unhealthy for some groups” people with asthma and respiratory problems should stay indoors and limit activates.

The Nez Perce Tribe Air Quality Program issued an air quality alert for the Nez Perce Reservation Monday morning. The alert will remain in affect until Wednesday afternoon.Nez Perce Tribe Air Quality Program

The agency reported that it is rare to reach unhealthy and very unhealthy air quality, it did reach those levels in 2015.
