Sandpoint man dies in one-car crash after hitting tree near Dover

Police said the man was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

DOVER, Idaho – A Sandpoint man was killed in a one-car crash near Dover early Friday morning, according to Idaho State Police.

David A. Darling, 67, driving eastbound on Syringa Heights Road around 3:44 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.

ISP said Darling was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
