Representative Dan Newhouse got married Friday in Washington D.C.
Newhouse and his new bride, Joan Galvin, got engaged in October. They were wed in the Congressional Prayer Room in the U.S. Capitol. The service was officiated by the Chaplin of the U.S. House of Representatives, Reverend Patrick J. Conroy S.J.
“I am overjoyed and truly blessed to be starting this new chapter of my life with Joan,” said Rep. Newhouse. “We are so grateful for the support and love of our friends, family, and everyone celebrating with us in spirit.”
Gavin was once the vice president for government relations at Feld Entertainment, that included Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus. She is now an advisor to the International Elephant Foundation.
Newhouse told the Tri-City Herald his late wife and daughter knew Galvin first and met her at a circus performance.
Newhouse’s previous wife passed away from cancer in May 2017.
