PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University women’s basketball head coach, June Daugherty, will not return as coach for the 2018-19 season.

WSU Director of Athletics Patrick Chun made the announcement Tuesday.

"Thank you to Coach June Daugherty for her years of service to Washington State University," Chun said. "We appreciate everything she has done for our student-athletes, women's basketball and this university."

WSU leaders said it was the school's decision to not have Daugherty return for next season.

In late January, WSU announced Daugherty would be taking a medical leave of absence. She also had one more year left on her contract

Daugherty was hired just before the 2007-08 campaign. She has led to Cougs for the past 11 seasons with a combined record of 130-218.
