Whitman Co. Humane Society seeks foster home for pregnant cat found with 12 kittens

WCHS officials said they are in desperate need of foster homes for two pregnant cats.

PULLMAN, Wash. – The Whitman County Humane Society found a pregnant cat along with 12 kittens in a box outside of its dog building on Friday night.

In light of event, WCHS sent out some reminders via Facebook:

  • WCHS has a SNAP program to help owners get their pets spayed and neutered. Being a responsible pet owner means getting your animal altered before they reproduce.
  • WCHS has a Trap Neuter Return program for feral cats. If you catch them, the shelter will get them fixed and vaccinated before you release them.
  • WCHS will always take in kittens and pregnant strays.
  • WCHS has an overnight receiving room. If you find stray animals after shelter hours, call the Pullman Police Department.

Officials with the WCHS said the mom is at the shelter and doing well, but they have been unable to find a foster home for her. The two kittens found with her were split up into two groups and are in foster care.

WCHS officials said they are in desperate need of foster homes, as half of the staff already have shelter animals in their homes. The shelter currently has two pregnant cats, including the cat found on Friday.
