SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane's House of Charity will stay open throughout Tuesday after the second winter storm in a week dumped five new inches of snow in the area, bringing the current snow accumulation in Spokane up to 17 inches.
According to a press release, the House of Charity will "operate with a skeleton crew" after the warming shelter's normal closing time of noon.
"With more snow in the past 48 hours than Spokane has received all winter, the House of Charity will remain open to the most vulnerable individuals in our community throughout the day rather than closing at 12 p.m.," the release stated.
While it will remain open, the warming shelter is not able to provide transportation, so those wanting to use the facilities will have to find a way to safely travel to the shelter.
