SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane is taking a bite out of hunger on Wednesday evening.

The event raises money to help Second Harvest distribute over 2.5 million pounds of food each month around the Inland Northwest.

Second Harvest serves about 55,000 people each week and supplies food to 250 food banks and meal centers each month.

Wednesday night is the 25th anniversary of the ‘Take a Bite Out of Hunger’ event. It includes microbrews, wines and nonalcoholic beverages. Guests can also bid on silent auction items that include everything from sporting events, golf outings, dining, jewelry, decor, getaway packages and more.

KREM 2 will be live from the event in the 6 p.m. newscast.
