Suspects found with stolen ATM and fork lift

One suspect made his first appearance in court on Tuesday.

SPOKANE, Wash – Two men are facing a long list of charges after Spokane County Deputies arrested them with what they said was a stolen truck, a stolen ATM machine and a stolen fork lift.

Damage was left behind at the Banner Bank in Rockford, Washington. The 24-hour ATM is boarded up and the sign says it is temporarily out of order. It is not just out of order, it is completely gone.

Court documents said the ATM machine that was once bolted down was ripped out of the concrete floor and later found smashed into pieces.

The suspects, Joseph Long and Aleksey Solodyankin, are believed to have stolen the ATM, put it in the back of a stolen truck and then got stuck in the mud as they tried to drive away.

The bank said at one point the ATM had $40,000 in it, but could not say exactly how much was in it when it was stolen.

Court documents state the two then stole a forklift from another business and may have tried to use it to either get the truck out of the mud or move the ATM again.

As deputies arrested Long, who appeared in court on Tuesday, his suspected accomplice Solodyankin took off on foot.

Solodyankin was arrested a short time later after deputies matched his shoe prints to ones left at the scene of the bank.

Both men are charged with Theft, Malicious Mischief, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Burglary.

On top of those charges, Long is facing additional charges of Malicious Mischief and Taking a Motor Vehicle without permission.

Due to his extensive criminal history, Long’s bond was set at $100,000.
