SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Spokane Valley High School students presented the Vanessa Behan Crises Nursery with a handmade playhouse on Tuesday.
The students spent a year building the playhouse after getting the inspiration during a class field trip to the nursery.

Students returned to school and began talking about the crisis nursery’s needs. The students then raised $2,500, including a $1,500 grant from the WV Education Foundation, procured the donations and employed the help of a professional carpenter to build the playhouse.
On Tuesday, the playhouse was loaded onto a trailer at the school and students helped deliver it to the nursery.
