Spokane Police track armed robbery suspect to home in N. Spokane

They said there was an armed robbery a few blocks north and they tracked the suspect to a home in the area.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Police are involved in a standoff with a possibly armed robbery suspect in North Spokane.

Officials have shut down East Bridgeport Avenue between Standard and Cincinnati.

They said there was an armed robbery a few blocks north where a man was held up at gunpoint and robbed. The suspects fled in a car and officers in the area were able to locate it a short distance away. Officials said the car pulled in front of a home on Bridgeport and the occupants went inside.

Officers then surrounded the home and they asked people to come outside. Authorities said several people came out of the home and were detained. One of the men was identified as Aaron Williams, 24. After an investigation, he was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for first degree armed robbery.

As of 7:45 p.m. Friday, law enforcement was still working on getting a search warrant for the home and SWAT was still on scene.

If you live in the area, they ask that you contact them so you can be escorted out. They do ask that people avoid the area.

They are expected to be on scene for several hours.
