Spokane police search for hit and run driver who seriously injured pedestrian

Officials said the woman was crossing the street around noon. Then, a truck turning from Sprague onto Monroe hit her.

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane police are investigating a hit and run crash that seriously injured a woman who was crossing South Monroe Street at West Sprague Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Officials said the woman was crossing the street around noon. Then, a truck turning from Sprague onto Monroe hit her. Police said the truck initially stopped, then sped off southbound on Monroe. The victim was left lying in the street. People stopped to help the woman called 911. She was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital for her serious injuries.

The Spokane Police Collisions Investigation Team was called to the scene. They have gathered extensive video and eye witness information.

Officials said the suspect vehicle is described as a mid-1990’s green Ford pickup truck with an extended cab. The driver is described as a 50 to 60-year-old white man.
