MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. -- The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Assault Unit detectives are investigating a report of sexually explicit photos of juveniles being distributed or sold in West Spokane County.

Deputies responded to a home in Medical lake on November 11 for a report of a possible sex crime. The deputy was told a juvenile who goes to Medical Lake High School was selling the log-on information to an internet drive that contained sexually explicit pictures of female juveniles.

Authorities said the deputy saw several named folders on the drive that contained selfie type photos of females she estimated to 15 to 18-years-old in named folders.

Spokane County Sexual Assault Unit Detectives were called in to help with the investigation. Investigators said they believe the pictures are of females who live in West Spokane County and possibly do or did attend Medical Lake High School or other schools in the area.

Officials have notified the Medical Lake School District about the investigation and they are cooperating with investigators to help identify the suspects in this incident.

Authorities said detectives are working to preserve evidence, prevent further spread of the photos and to identify potential victims. Investigators will contact parents of the victims as soon as possible once they are identified.
