SPOKANE, Wash. — Friday’s snowfall is forcing the cancellation of local sporting events.

The Greater Spokane League has canceled all 3A basketball games on Friday and all 4A games on Saturday. The Friday 3A and Saturday 4A games will be moved to Feb. 12 and the 3A and 4A games originally scheduled for Feb. 12 will move to Feb. 13.

The games are part of the Mid-Columbia Conference basketball tournament. Teams from Oregon and western Washington were expected to play at the Spokane Arena.

The high school regional wrestling tournament in Liberty is also cancelled. 

Two inches of snow fell in parts of Spokane on Friday with another three to six inches expected Friday night into Saturday. 

Storms are also hitting Portland and Seattle, with several inches expected in those cities that do not often see snow.
