SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash --- Smoke from wildfires is causing flight delays at Spokane International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration had warned us earlier in the year that smoke could cause delays.

The smoke is impacting flights at Sea-Tac, and now it is impacting the east side of the state as well.

Todd Woodard from the Spokane International Airport said the delays are from the smoke in Seattle and Spokane, and Seattle has Seafair right now. These are the major factors in delaying the flights right now.

Several flights out of both airports are delayed because of the wildfire smoke, according to the FAA.

As the day moves on there are less and less delays but check your flight status at on the Spokane International Airport’s website.
