SPOKANE, Wash. – A fire caused $200,000 in damage to Craig's Automotive auto body shop the Spokane Fire Department confirmed Friday.
Firefighters noticed a large column of smoke coming from the corner of N Cincinnati St. and E Rosewood Ave around 8:37 pm. Thursday night. Crews quickly determined the source was a large metal building that houses the auto body repair shop.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire.
A full fire alarm response was dispatched and a second alarm sounded. A total of 45 firefighters responded to the fire.
Flames and smoke were showing from the west and north sides of the structure. Crews were able to bring the fire under control within 40 minutes.
Damage was confined to the walls and ceilings of the west end of the building with smoke damage through the structure. Several vehicles inside the building sustained heat and smoke damage.
