KELLOGG, Idaho – Outdoor enthusiasts rejoice!

Silver Mountain Resort will open for its summer season Saturday, May 26 through Monday, May 28, according to a release from the resort.

You can take a scenic gondola ride to 5,700 feet and enjoy 360-degree of the surrounding mountains. The Mountain House Grill will serve lunch and drinks at the top of the gondola.

The three-mile East Ridge Nature Trail will also be open for hiking.

Due to abnormally large snowfall, Silver Mountain Bike Park will be partially open Memorial Day weekend. The Lower Mountain will have 24 trails open and accessible from the gondola, but Chair 3 and Upper Mountain trails are still covered with snow and will open later.

It is recommended that riders be comfortable riding intermediate or better trails. Brand new giant rental bikes are available for rent online and the resort highly recommends reservations.

The Trail of the Coeur d’Alene’s is also clear and ready for summer bike traffic.

Silver Mountain will be open weekends only until June 21, when daily operations begin.

Galena Ridge golf course is open daily and Silver Rapids Waterpark is open weekends until June 15, when it goes to a daily schedule.
