SPOKANE, Wash. - Three finalists for the Spokane Police Chief position will introduce themselves to the public at a question and answer session on Wednesday.

James Dermody of Seattle, Robert Lehner of Elk Grove, Calif. and Dominic Rizzi, Jr. of Yakima, Wash. will be in town for interviews and the event.

According to a release, interview panels at the event will focus on “community policing, leadership, community engagement, and business operations and finance.”

Public questions can be submitted to policechiefsearch@spokanecity.org or in writing at the event.

The reception starts Wednesday at the West Central Community Center on Belt Street at 4:30 p.m. and the candidates will start answering questions at 5:30 p.m.

Mayor David Condon expects to announce the selection within a few days after the interviews. The selected chief will go before the City Council for confirmation, likely in early August.
