Local orthodontist buys first responders almost 500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies

SPOKANE, Wash. – A local orthodontist purchased nearly 500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to donate to local first responders.

Bret Johnson at Bret Johnson Orthodontics purchased 480 boxes of Girl Scout cookies, providing local Girl Scout Troops with $2,880 in cookie sales. This added up to two cases from 20 local troops.

In return, Johnson will donate the cookies to Spokane’s fire and police departments, paramedics and emergency medical technicians.

Johnson launched the “It’s Cookie Time” program, aimed at helping Girl Scout troops reach their cookie sale goals for the year while providing first responders with a sweet surprise, in February.

He hopes to deliver them sometime next week after the remainder of the cookies are delivered to the office.
