SPRAGUE, Wash. – One person is dead and two others were injured in a crash on Interstate 90 near Sprague on Wednesday morning.

WSP reported said Tamara Wilkins, 45, was driving westbound on I-90 when she attempted to change lanes to the left, lost control and left the roadway. Officials said her car hit a rock and rolled on its side.

WSP officials said Wilkins died at the scene. The passengers in her car Virginia Haas, 88, and Barbara Proffitt, 64, were injured in the crash and taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Officials said the right lane blocked for investigation. As of about 11 a.m., traffic through the area was slow but moving.

Troopers were working to gather evidence from the roadway, Sevigney said, and they planned to tow the crash from the scene once they were finished with the investigation.

"If you don't need to be out or you can possibly postpone your travel to later today or tomorrow, it's probably a good idea," Sevigney said. "If you're gonna be out, give yourself plenty of time."
