Moscow Police release sketch of sexual assault suspect

Police are looking for a man accused of raping a woman inside her apartment near the University of Idaho back on July 3.

MOSCOW, Idaho -- The Moscow Police Department is asking for the public's help finding a sexual assault suspect.

Police are looking for a man accused of raping a woman inside her apartment near the University of Idaho back on July 3. According to police, a college-aged woman said she was unlocking the front door of her apartment on Lauder Avenue when the attack started. The suspect allegedly forced the victim inside her apartment, sexually assaulted her and then escaped on foot.

Moscow Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect. He is described as a white male, about 5’7” tall and approximately 240 pounds.

The victim said she does not know the alleged suspect.

The victim underwent a rape examination at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow and detectives are now waiting for any physical evidence from the Idaho State Crime lab.
