KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho – Kootenai County updated its Emergency Alert Program Tuesday.

Kootenai County officials said they want everyone in the county to sign up to receive alerts and warnings quickly during an emergency. Kootenai! Alert is a new systems that enables the County to provide the public with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, such as winter storms, flooding, major forest fires and more.

To update your information or to sign up for emergency alerts and warnings, click here to setup your account. Landline telephones are automatically setup to receive these emergency alerts.

For those who were signed up for alerts under the County’s old system, officials said the contact information listed has been transferred to the new system temporarily. The information will be available to update until September 1st. After that, users will need to create a new account.
