COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — A Lake City High School senior has accepted a full-ride scholarship to Yale University Tuesday.
After becoming a QuestBridge finalist, Crista Falk was one of 1,044 students selected out of a pool of more than 16,000 applicants from across the country to be matched to the school of her choice. She is also a Coca-Cola semi-finalist who received a perfect score on her math SAT last April.
Of those finalists, 1,044 students from 47 states and the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico were selected as this year’s scholarship recipients. QuestBridge’s 40 college partners include top liberal arts colleges and research universities such as Duke, Columbia, Stanford and Yale.
This year’s scholarship recipients had an average unweighted GPA of 3.93. The median household income is $32,491 and 86 percent qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.
Falk plans to double major in Computer Science and Statistics and Data Science. She encourages juniors and seniors to explore the opportunities QuestBridge provides.
QuestBridge is a national non-profit based in California that connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with leading high education institutions. After receiving a record high number of applicants, QuestBridge selected 6,507 finalists who were considered for their College Match scholarship.
