COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho -- Idaho State Police said several Coeur d'Alene-area businesses are suspected of trafficking unlawful alcoholic beverages.

The businesses could face charges after several law enforcement agencies served search warrants earlier this week.

Two businesses and one personal residence were searched. The warrants came after an investigation into the illegal importation and distribution of alcohol in North Idaho.

One search was at Castaway Cellars on Sherman Avenue. Officials said more than 200 cases of wine were seized. Another warrant was served at a brewery located on Coeur d'Alene Avenue where four kegs were seized.

Law enforcement officers said they also seized about 25 cases of wine from several businesses in possession of the illegally imported alcohol. ISP said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
