COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho-- A man is injured early Saturday morning after his car crashed into a building at 1100 Lakeshore Drive.

Idaho State Police said Fred Kudrna, 22, of Hayden did not stop for the intersection at 11th St and Lakeshore Drive resulting in the crash.

There was significant damage to the structure of the building. The building houses a realty business and a residence.

According to Authorities, Kudrna was not wearing a seat belt and they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Kudrna was transported to Kootenai Health for medical attention.

A neighbor in the area told KREM 2 that they heard officials saying that the driver could having been driving an upward of 70 MPH at the time of the crash.

"It woke several of the neighbors up. They heard him fly by. They said it sounded like a bomb went off," said owner of TK Marina Serivces Todd King. "It's residential. We're fortunate nobody else was injured. Hopefully the driver is going to be alright."

Officials are still investigating the case.
