A 6,000-acre fire is burning about seven miles east of Kittitas. All lanes of I-90 have been shut down in the area. Washington Department of Natural Resources said they have sent engines, three airplanes and two helicopters to help fight the flames.
Evacuation orders have been lowered for the Buckshot Fire burning in Mattawa. Level three evacuations issued for Mansfield Road north of Crescent Bar Road and Lakeside Way have been lowered to a level one. About 50 homes were threatened and officials said it is unknown if any of them were damaged.
