SPOKANE, Wash.—A head-on collision on Highway 95 left one person dead and eight injured.

Officials with the Idaho State Police reported the crash happened Wednesday night two miles south of Sagle.

ISP authorities said a 2010 Dodge Caravan attempted to pass a slower moving vehicle when it collided head on with a 1997 Nissan Altima.

Law enforcement identified the driver of the Nissan Altima as James Moore. Reports said Moore was transported to Kootenai Health after the incident but later died from his injuries.

ISP officials said there were four children in the Dodge Caravan and one child in the Nissan Altima who were transported to Kootenai Health following the incident along with three adults.
