QUINCY, Wash. — A teen was arrested and another was taken to the hospital after a high-speed chase near Quincy, Washington, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

On Monday night, officers with the Quincy Police Department tried to stop a vehicle running stop signs in Quincy, according to the sheriff’s office. Instead of pulling over, the 13-year-old driver drove toward the city of George at more than 100 miles-per-hour.

A short time later, a deputy with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office found a vehicle matching the description and tried to initiate a traffic stop on Beverly Burke Road. The driver continued to travel at speeds of around 90 miles-per-hour.

As the vehicle approached a sharp turn, the driver lost control and left the road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office said three of the vehicle’s five occupants were treated for minor injuries and two were taken to the hospital, including the driver.

The driver was released shortly after and was charged with two counts of attempting to elude.
