WHAT IS THE KREM CARES DIAPER DRIVE: A $10 Diaper Drive donation provides a family in need with a week’s worth of diapers and wipes. KREM 2 and our partners at Rosauers, Washington Trust Bank, and Vanessa Behan want to keep babies warm, safe, and dry. But we need your help.
DATES: April 26 —May 9
HOW TO DONATE: It’s easy and we have three main ways to give.
COST: $10 donation buys a week’s worth of diapers and wipes. You can impact a family by purchasing a KREM Cares Diaper Drive bag.
DO PEOPLE NEED DIAPERS: 1 in 3 families struggle with diaper need (attribution: Vanessa Behan). These diapers are critical in keeping babies healthy and providing support for families.
HOW MANY DIAPERS DOES A BABY USE IN A WEEK? Well, as you know all babies are different. Babies use between 7-10 diapers a day. That adds up! The KREM Cares ‘Diaper Drive Bag’ will provide a family with approximately 50 diapers and a package of wipes.
HOW DOES THIS HELP FAMILIES: It can cost a family upwards of $1,000 a year to diaper just one child. That cost can prove financially crippling. Vanessa Behan reports that there is a direct correlation between financial stress and incidents of child abuse. The KREM Cares Diaper Drive is one way to help end child abuse.
WHO GETS THE DIAPERS: The diapers are distributed by Vanessa Behan. If a family needs the help they can request the diapers and wipes. Last year (2020), Vanessa Behan handed out 173,601 diapers.
WHY DIDN'T DIAPER DRIVE HAPPEN IN 2020: During the pandemic it became increasingly difficult to purchase diapers. Our partners at Rosauers have helped secure diapers for this year’s KREM Cares Diaper Drive.
PARTNERS: The KREM Cares Diaper Drive is a team effort. KREM 2, Vanessa Behan, Rosauers, and Washington Trust Banks are working together to make a difference. Join us. Together we can help families, lessen abuse, and keep babies safe.
