SPOKANE, Wash. – Your summer road trip could cost you some big bucks.

Washington and Idaho have some of the highest gas prices in the nation right now.

The national average is sitting at $2.87 and the West Coast has earned the top spot for highest prices.

A year ago, the national payment at the pump was about $2.25.

The average price per gallon in Washington state is $3.43. In Spokane County, it is a bit lower at $3.29.

Washington’s average a year ago sat at $2.81.

Idaho’s state average is $3.13 and Kootenai County is not far behind at about $3.11 per gallon.
