SPOKANE, Wash. — Small Business Saturday will provide local Spokane shops with a chance to follow up Black Friday with their own deals.

Saturday night, there’s going to be tons of people flooding the streets of Kendall Yards for its annual celebration of the holidays featuring a fireworks show.

One business excited for the sales is Boutique Bleu, a mother-daughter ran shop that’s been in Kendall Yards for the last three years.

“Spokane supports small and local business,” said Amy Driscoll. “Small Business Saturday as a whole is very successful, especially for a small business like us.”

That’s important for them because they get first-time customers who walk in to check out their collection. For festivals like the one tomorrow, it’s another opportunity for their hard work to be noticed.

“It takes a lot of preparation but it’s fun prep. We get a lot of ideas going together,” Indiah Ward explained.

The two said the Saturday is more relaxed than the hustle and bustle of Black Friday. Not only is this their one major sale of the year. They also house products from local artists that get extra exposure in their shop. On top of the sales, they’ll have giveaways as well.

“We love Kendall Yards, Driscoll exclaimed. “It’s been a wonderful neighborhood.”

The community event will be from 5:00-7:00 pm. Christmas lights on the street will officially be celebrated with a fireworks show.
