Local shelters are in desperate need of soap. The non-profit Project Beauty Share supplies hygiene and beauty products to over 90 agencies in the Inland Northwest who serve women overcoming hardships. They are urgently asking for soap donations.
“We understand soap is in limited supply right now, however our partner shelters are in desperate need of any and all kinds of soap. Right now, Project Beauty Share does not have any in stock,” the non-profit shared on social media. Any kind of bar and liquid soap and hotel and sample size soaps are accepted.
One 17 year old answered the call and made 160 handmade soaps in one night when he learned of the need. Donovan Tyee Smith has made over 21,000 bars of soap for the homeless and vulnerable population. He has recently ran out of soap supplies and hopes to get more before his supplier is unable to ship anymore.
“Any amount donated is appreciated and will go directly to buying supplies. I always post pictures of my supplies arriving and of me soaping. Soap is always essential for everyone but during this crisis it is very essential to help the homeless survive,” Smith shared on social media.
