SPOKANE, Wash.— Central Valley High School students felt the spirit of giving this holiday season.

The school’s Key Club members got hundreds of students together to make and fold blankets for those in need.

The blankets will be donated to Blessings Under the Bridge, Sally’s House, and other organizations that help local people in need.

Key Club advisor, Krista Larsen said she was really glad to help make a difference.

"We talk about how cold it gets walking to the bus or coming in from their car and then ask them to imagine what it would be like to not go home at night to only have what you're wearing and i think that really speaks to the kids," said Larsen.

Larsen said over the past 11 years they have made more than 3,000 blankets.

They are hoping that tonight will give another 3-hundred people warmth during this chilly holiday season, according to Larsen.

Other people can get involved by bringing blankets, coats, socks, or hats to Central Valley High School by December 13.
