Joshua Robinson joined KREM 2 News in January of 2020, as a multi-skilled journalist and a co-anchor of Up With KREM.
Joshua joined KREM 2 News after previously working as a morning reporter at WGRZ in Buffalo, NY, where he not only learned from iconic news anchor John Beard, but traveled around the country tracking down legendary Buffalo Bills super-fans and challenging Olympic Gold Medalists to a game of curling.
Prior to his time in Buffalo, Joshua kicked his journalism career off in the Pacific Northwest, working for the ABC/Fox Montana duopoly in Missoula, MT. Within a few short months, Joshua learned an important lesson about trying to set up his own live shot from the top of a mountain: don’t hike in dress shoes. During his time in Missoula, Joshua’s biggest community service efforts came from his time spent with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Montana.
Joshua is a graduate of Fresno State in Fresno, CA (GO BULLDOGS!), where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the university’s Mass Communication and Journalism Degree. He also minored in Creative Writing, and is currently working on his own children’s book. (Just ask him, he’ll be happy to tell you about the story!)
Before he started his journalism career, Joshua spent nearly two years as a practicing pastry chef. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, CA, Joshua was hired directly out of school to work at all three Joe Bastianich restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip. From there, he relocated back to his hometown of Visalia, CA to open up a brand new pastry department in his favorite childhood cake shop.
But no job has ever replicated the love he still feels for his very first job: the head mouse at Visalia’s Chuck E Cheese. (Yes, Joshua was the mouse. And yes, he won 2nd place in the National Chuck E Dance-Off Competition.)
Outside of the newsroom, Joshua is an avid fan of traveling around the country for Los Angeles Dodgers games, grabbing a flight of samplers at a nearby brewery, or checking out a brand new board game or two.
Most importantly, Joshua is thrilled to join the KREM 2 and Up With KREM teams and to call Spokane his new home.
