Around 2:30 PM this afternoon, my husband and I were driving up skyline drive at McCroskey state park near Potlatch, ID to take our dogs for a walk. In the corner of my eye I caught a glimpse of headlights coming from down off the side of the mountain. An Suv was spotted down the side of the mountain stopped against a tree. The vehicle appeared to be a roll-over as the top was crushed in, the front windshield shattered and other damage noted. We climbed down to offer our assistance. The vehicle was still running and a man was behind the wheel. He only answered no to questions and seemed very flat in his speech staring straight forward with fixed pupils. 911 was called and potlatch emergency service responded to the scene. Med star was immediately dispatched as the man’s condition deteriorated quickly. We assisted EMS to find a cleared area large enough for med star to land on the top of the mountain on skyline drive. The man was life flighted to Spokane.
