Today, as with most Tuesdays, the family was eating lunch at the table in the time between gymnastics at Palouse Empire Gymnastics and preschool at White Pine Montessori School. We were chatting and suddenly one of my 4 year olds looks out the window and says, "Mom, I see a cow." Amused, I look up to see what she could be talking about. "Oh my goodness, that's not a cow sweetheart... it's a Moose! There is a moose outside our window!" We jump up and my husband steps just outside the front door to take a quick picture. As he snaps the picture our 7 pound 7 year old chihuahua decides to save the day, running between my husband's legs she charges full speed, full volume. It must have been quite the sight--a moose being chased off a college campus by a pink-shirted chihuahua while my four year old twins and I are screaming at her to leave it alone before she gets stepped on. Luckily, the moose was startled by the cat-sized barking animal chasing it and decided to leave. Once it was out of the yard, Tink returned triumphantly as we marveled at the events that we had just witnessed.
