Mama moose and her twins came to visit our yard in Rathdrum, ID on 9/20. Between the 3 of them, they drank about 8 gallons of water from a tub we filled for them about 20 feet from the back door of our home. Mom drank first for about 10 minutes and then stood over the tub of water until the twins came back from their wanderings to have their share. The twins knelt down and drank the tub almost clean. The happy family then went and made themselves at home in our yard and orchard munching on various young trees. It was thoroughly delightful to watch them and is what living here in the Northwest is all about!!
