From September 16-18, 2011, thousands of women and men will unite and walk 60 miles. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure® is a weekend of hope, as we honor lives lost, celebrate survivors, promote breast cancer research and help bring breast cancer care to those who so desperately need it.
This is the third year I’ve committed myself to walk and have agreed to raise a minimum of $2,300 to help fight breast cancer. Net proceeds from the 3-Day for the Cure are invested in community-based breast health programs and breast cancer research. The research funded focuses on decreasing breast cancer incidence and mortality in the next decade.
In order to reach this goal, I ask for your support in the form of a monetary donation. I am just one person that wants to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, but with your help, we are much stronger. As a mother of five, it's going to be tough to fit fundraising and training into my schedule but I know I can do it again.
Unfortunately, breast cancer has become an all too common occurrence among women and men throughout the world. Now is the time to take action to help end this disease. The more funds that I raise, the sooner we can end this fight. More information about the 3-Day can be found at Jenny's 3 Day Fundraising Page: www.the3day.org (search for participant Jenny Slagle). Donations can be made online. By supporting me in the 3-Day, you will ultimately help put an end to breast cancer.
Thank you for your support and consideration.
