This is the annual Shotokan Karate of Spokane Traditional Karate Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Salvation Army GYM 222 E Indiana Spokane, WA 99209. The tournament will start at 1:00pm. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring). Medals will be awarded to all participants 17 years and under. Awards will also be presented to “Best Competitor”, in Children, Youth, Adult Women’s and Adult Men’s events. Those who enjoy karate know that it offers benefits. In addition to competition, physical fitness and good sportsmanship, the practice of karate instills discipline, humility, and respect for others. We look forward to a great event this year.
