Subject: Hedge Fund Regulation
Last week our media presented us with cause for immediate concern: A Hedge Fund Manager earned $5 billion for his one year of work – “job” if you will. In 2007 they say he made $4 billion for doing his job. 99% of Americans would be honored and motivated doing this job for a mere $1million a year.
Is the availability of our cash any less of a national concern than the availability of Trees, Oil, or National Parks?
Our Bridges, Highways, Dams, Social Services could be made whole with this money and to allow it to be hoarded by just a few privileged individuals is an insult to the intent of our democracy (Republic.)
I don’t know what a Hedge fund is but it is time that America “Seize” this industry because it has repeatedly robed our national resource – America’s Cash.
If you must hire one thousand Investigators and Enforcers it is money well spent to put this money back into our economy.
I made $30K last year and paid about 30% income tax on it. This guy made $5 billion and paid 15% income tax. America ought to be ashamed and outraged.
