SPOKANE-- A flood warning remained in effect Monday night along the Spokane River because the water still hovers about six inches above flood stage.
Levels of the Spokane River were high moving onto the edge of peaceful valley park. You could see the water brushing up on the slope.
The National Weather Service issued a warning Monday morning.
Minor flooding is expected at Peaceful Valley Park and in the yards of homes at the east end of Water Street. As of Monday night they've escaped any flooding so far.
The forecast also said storm drains may back up through Main Street where it meets Elm Street.
Late last week people in this area started sandbagging as a precaution.
The current flood warning is set to expire on Thursday, when parts of the river will fall below flood stage.
