Ice and patchy slush for Wednesday morning commute

Icy road conditions Wednesday morning

SPOKANE, Wash. — Driving conditions are deteriorating across the Inland Northwest as temperatures drop below freezing Wednesday morning.

There are reports of patchy ice and slush on roadways across the region.

However, there is no new snow or rain expected in Spokane or Coeur d’Alene Wednesday morning.  Drier weather is expected to move in.

But the dry weather will not be around for long.  Rain will move back into the region as early as Thursday.

The Winter Weather Advisory continues Wednesday until 7 a.m. for the Idaho Panhandle and Western Montana mountains.  These areas could see one to five inches of new snow.

High temperatures Wednesday will be in the 40’s with mostly to partly cloudy skies.
