ST. JOHN PARISH, La. -- Several subdivisions in LaPlace in St. John Parish are being evacuated because of high water from Lake Pontchartrain.
The areas impacted are River Forest, Spring Meadow, Palmetto Lake, Palmetto South, Palmetto Ridgewood, Bellegrove, Robichaux, Remy Drive.
The St. John Sheriff's Office, National Guard, the fire department and agents from the Fisheries and Wildlife are helping to evacaute people from the homes.
