LAPLACE, La. - I-10, the main thoroughfare between New Orleans and Baton Rouge is closed in both directions at US 51 due to high water.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted to LA 3188, while westbound traffic is being diverted to I-55 North.
Coupled with the closure of Airline Highway at the St. Charles / Jefferson Parish line, traveling between the state's capital and New Orleans is tenuous at best.
